United States – Recycling software specialist cieTrade Systems has introduced a mobile app, eDock, that could eliminate paper breakdown sheets and shipping logs from recycling plants.
The touchscreen app, which can be used directly from the loading dock or scale-enabled forklift, allows warehouse personnel to process and grade inbound loads and outbound shipments. The app runs from any Windows-enabled tablet.
Among the claimed benefits are weigh-bridge and floor scale integration, and the use of barcoding technology to tag inbound material and scan outbound loads. The system also takes photos to record potential quality issues.

Operating as an extension of cieTrade′s existing business management software, eDock will produce all required documentation, including scale tickets, packing lists and bills of lading.
