Germany – Catalytic converter recycler Duesmann & Hensel has commissioned a new plasma smelting furnace at Karlstein, Germany. The facility can handle 2000 tonnes of catalytic converters per year.
The smelter has been designed to optimise the recovery of precious metals from used automotive converters. ′With the integration of the plasma smelting furnace in our value chain, we are significantly differentiating ourselves from classic processors in our industry,′ claims Clemens Hensel, managing partner at Duesmann & Hensel Recycling. In addition, the investment gives the company ′greater flexibility over the long term′.
Headquartered in Germany, Duesmann & Hensel has subsidiaries in Australia, Austria, China, the Czech Republic, France, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, South Africa, the UK and the USA.
