Metso: Revival in worldwide sales of recycling equipment

global – ‘The global metal recycling market has started to recover after the prolonged downturn, and customers are starting to invest to improve process efficiency and productivity.’ So says Uffe Hansen, president recycling business at shredder and (shear)baler manufacturer Metso.

Metso has experienced ‘substantial growth’ in orders for its metal recycling solutions. In 2017, the company delivered major orders to customers around the world, in China and Europe but also in Asia-Pacific and the US. ‘These customers range from large, multinational scrap yards and leading players in the steel industry, to local, family-run metal waste scrap processors’, it is stressed.

The deliveries cover the whole metal recycling product portfolio, including shears, balers and shredders. A large part of the orders were scrap shears, ranging from the small and mid-sized N-series(TM) shears, to the heavy-duty EtaCut(TM) scrap shears, which are designed especially for scrapyards, steelworks and foundries.
