Bulgaria ready to welcome international waste management pioneers

Bulgaria – ‘Undoubtedly, the landscape of waste management in South-East Europe is changing and interest towards advanced solutions is increasing,’ according to Via Expo, which is organising the must-attend event ‘€œSave the Planet’€ on 27-29 March in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Modern-day technologies have the power to turn current environmental challenges into profitable opportunities. Such innovative recycling solutions will be presented at “Save the Planet” in Bulgaria’s capital in two weeks. Registration is free until March 22.

Both the exhibition and parallel conference allow the attendees to discuss bright new ideas and network with internationally recognised recycling companies and other important industry players.

Reliable and environmentally friendly solutions will be presented by companies from 10 different countries, covering:

• Recycling: equipment for sorting, shredding, washing dosing, re-granulation, compounding and extrusion; knives and spare parts

• Hazardous waste treatment and disposal

• Waste collection: containers, bins; satellite navigation; on-board weighing and identification systems

• Waste-to-energy

• Bio-waste utilisation: composting, fermentation, biomass mechanical-biological waste treatment, anaerobic digestion plants; processing of refuse-derived fuels; dryers

The participation in the parallel conference is said to be a valuable opportunity to meet high-level influencers from the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Water, RWS Environment the Netherlands, EU-funded LIFE Programme as well as from Wehrle Umwelt GmbH, Hitachi Zosen Inova and Cleantech Bulgaria.

Circular economy and EU funding tool for the Environment and Climate Action will be the highlighted in these talks.

For the first time, the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) will be part of the exhibition, where it will promote services and programmes for sustainable and professional waste management.
