Netherlands – Netherlands-based Wavin, the world’s largest supplier of water management, plumbing and drainage systems, has launched Recycore Technology – an innovative manufacturing process developed to reduce the use of virgin materials by incorporating at least 50% recycled content.
Already one of Europe’s largest users of recycled plastic, Wavin expects the introduction Recycore Technology to enable it to consume many more thousands of tonnes without any loss of performance or handling characteristics. Recycore Technology products are tested to industry standards and, where applicable, will be third-party approved through schemes such as the BSI Kitemark.
Wavin’s 110 mm and 160 mm soil and drain pipes are the first products to be manufactured utilising the Recycore Technology process. With the exception of its dark middle layer of recycled material, the pipes look, feel and perform exactly as their predecessors.
