Second US bottle recycling plant for CarbonLite

United States – CarbonLite Industries LLC is to build a second, US$ 40 million plastic bottle recycling plant in the USA, to be located at Abilene in Texas. Its existing facility has been operating in California since 2011 and processes 2 billion bottles per annum for major customers such as Nestlé and PepsiCo.

Construction of the Texas plant will begin later this year, with production scheduled to start in late 2014.

The facility will employ 100 people and will take in 1.6 billion used bottles per year for conversion into raw material to make new bottles for Nestlé Waters North America, the third largest non-alcoholic beverage company by volume in the USA.

According to media reports, CarbonLite is looking to establish a third bottle-to-bottle recycling plant on the US East Coast.
