First-ever Plastics Recycling Expo to be held in UK

United Kingdom – Crain Communications, owner of ‘European Plastics News’, has announced the launch of a new plastics recycling event to take place next year.

Europe’s ‘first and only exhibition and conference dedicated to plastics recycling’ – dubbed Plastics Recycling Expo – is to be held at the Telford International Centre near the UK’s second city of Birmingham on June 18-19 2014. The aim will be to bring together key players from across the plastics recycling sectors.

The launch of the event comes at a time when there is growing environmental and governmental pressure to increase the recycling of plastics as well as new technical advances in plastics recycling. With some 10 million tonnes of post-consumer plastics landfilled every year across Europe, recycling rates are still lagging those of, for instance, paper, it is noted.
