Italy – Cavalluccio children’s play equipment, manufactured by Eurocomitalia of Italy, has been named as the winner of the ‘Best Recycled Product’ award by the European Association of Plastics Recycling and Recovery Organisations (EPRO). The accolade was confirmed at IdentiPlast 2011 in Madrid, Spain.
Launched in 2009, the aim of the competition is to find an ambassador product which demonstrates how recycled plastics play an important part in new product innovation and production, while also promoting the life-cycle of plastics and the increasing demand for recycled materials. More than 80 entries from 15 countries have been received in the first three years of the award.
This year’s competition attracted a range of entries, including both consumer-facing and commercial products. Entries were required to contain a substantial proportion of recycled plastics and to be manufactured in Europe.
