Evermore strict environmental regulation and China’s import ban on plastic waste have led to a lot more investment in advanced recycling solutions, says plastics recycling technology expert Erema.
The Austrian company has seen turnover grow to more than EUR 180 million in 2018-19, an increase of 16% compared to the previous year.
Worldwide, Erema is seeing sales growth in all three recycling markets: post-consumer (contaminated and used plastics), in-house and industrial (clean production waste), and bottle recycling (PET and food packaging). In the last segment, incoming orders almost tripled compared to previous years.
Trendsetter
Order intake in the post-consumer segment has doubled within the last three years, the company claims. ‘Here we are pioneers and trendsetters in solutions for a growing recycling industry that focuses on quality and is becoming increasingly industrialised,’ says Erema Group’s ceo Manfred Hackl.
Expansion on the way
In response to increased market demand, Erema has announced an expansion of the company headquarters in Ansfelden/Linz. New production and office space is scheduled go into operation in the second quarter of 2020.
