Argentina – Argentina’s plastics industry chamber CAIP has been appointed to preside over the 14-member Latin American plastics industry association Aliplast for the coming two years in succession to Ecuador’s Aseplas. Meanwhile, Mexico’s plastics industry body Anipac has been handed the vice presidency.
CAIP has already served a leading role twice before and its Sub-Manager Sergio Hilbrecht announces: ‘It’s very important to us to have the opportunity again to lead the plastics industry for all of Latin America. Our main challenge now will be to improve integration of the industry in member countries in defence of plastics and the environment.’
CAIP intends to use Aliplast to launch technical education partnerships with similar entities in Europe in the hope that this will facilitate access to modern technology for Latin America’s industry members, he adds.
Besides Argentina and Mexico, Aliplast is the umbrella for plastics industry associations in Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Guatemala.
