United States – Shanghai-based plastics granulating equipment manufacturer Avian Group will open a factory in Chicago in several months from now and plans to move its headquarters to the US city in the near future.
The plant is scheduled to enter operation in July or August, reports the company’s president Mark Miao. The facility will make granulators, shredders and pulverisers for customers in North and South America. The aim is for the factory to achieve an annual production capacity of 200 units within three years.
Avian was founded in Australia 32 years ago; in 1997, its production was transferred to China. In 2013, the group produced a total of 1200 machines and is aiming to double that number this year. Exports account for 60% of the company’s sales.
