Amut extends recycling equipment portfolio

Italy – Plastics machinery manufacturer Amut SpA is adding to its recycling interests with the acquisition of fellow Italian firm Comer Engineering. The latter builds equipment and plant for sorting and treating waste, including plastics and tyres. Amut’s related business makes equipment for washing and recycling thermoplastics.

Novara-based Amut is a prominent producer of extrusion, thermoforming and recycling equipment. According to a news statement, Amut and Comer have worked together in the past, and the former anticipates technical and commercial synergies to develop from the acquisition.

As a result of the deal, Amut is creating an Amut Ecotech unit which will focus on recycling urban solid waste. According to the statement, this new entity has commenced its activities and has already attracted orders valued at around Euro 10 million.
