Belarus introduces half-year paper export ban

Belarus – The Council of Ministers in Belarus has imposed a temporary ban on the export of recovered paper to countries other than Kazakhstan and Russia.

According to the directive, the ban has been introduced in accordance with an agreement for the application of foreign trade measures in the framework of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The Belarussian cabinet said that the ban would be effective until January 1 2012.

The Belarusian foreign ministry was tasked with informing the Customs Union about the introduction of the ban, and has suggested that Kazakhstan and Russia should introduce similar measures.
