Galloo secures further integration of Groupe Dupuy

Belgium / France – Leading ferrous and non-ferrous metals processor Galloo has beefed up its market position in Northern France by acquiring 50% of the remaining shares of Groupe Dupuy-Van Damme following a first acquisition in October 2010.

Group Dupuy-Van Damme operates 11 branches in the region between Paris and Belgium. ‘We will create two big processing centres, each having its own name – Galloo Littoral for the former Dupuy companies in Northern France, and Galloo Ile-de-France for the sites in the Paris region,’ explains Pierre Vandeputte, Chairman of Groupe Galloo. ‘This name change is part of the complete integration of the new yards in our group.’

Galloo is planning a major investment in new equipment and workforce in a bid to boost profitability at Dupuy. ‘This will happen according the latest environmental and quality standards,’ adds Mr Vandeputte

The group, which is headquartered in Menen, Belgium, operates 49 branches and employs more than 1000 people.
