France / Luxembourg – Just a week after German recycling conglomerate TSR expressed its interest in buying metals processor Recylux, Ecore is walking away with the Luxemburg based group.
Netherlands-headquartered Ecore acquires the 11 sites of Recylux in France, Luxemburg, Belgium and the Netherlands. Ecore will integrate the ferrous and non-ferrous scrap processor and its 250 employees with GDE Recyclage, Ecore’s largest subsidiary. ‘Recylux is a significant European player,’ says Ecore, ‘the company treats about 1 million tonnes of metals per year and has a turnover of Euro 300 million.
This integration allows Ecore to strengthen its position among the recycling leaders in Europe, the group explains. ‘Geographically the Benelux activities of Recylux complements to activities of GDE Recyclage in France,’ says Ecore, which took over the activities of Strasbourg based Metalifer two weeks ago.
Created in 1993, Ecore brings together 80 recycling yards in Europe, China and India, employing 1400 people.
