BIR reveals non-ferrous programme for Delhi convention

India – Business in India will provide the focus for the BIR non-ferrous metals division meeting scheduled for New Delhi’€™s Taj Palace Hotel on October 16.

As well as a general economic overview of the global non-ferrous scrap market, delegates will be treated to three guest presentations. Deepak Mahendra, former managing director of Chassis Brakes International, will be speaking about the current status and future of India’s fast-growing automotive components industry.

Navin Sharma, ceo at Gravita India Ltd, is planning a presentation entitled ‘India’s dominance in secondary lead’ and will aim to provide a better understanding of the challenges ahead for the overall industry.

And Akshay Agarwal, executive director at India’s largest producer of aluminium and zinc die-casting alloys Century Metal Recycling, will address India’s secondary aluminum production and its growing appetite for scrap.

India is one of the world’s fastest-growing secondary aluminium markets, with major growth potential for vehicle demand which is likely to boost light metal consumption.
