Koloss: Lefort’s new big boy
As the name suggests, the new shear balers developed by Lefort are the largest in
the company’s entire portfolio. The tech supplier recently invited Recycling
International to come and see its newest ‘Koloss’ series at its headquarters in
Gosselies, Belgium.

meters long and 2.6 meters wide.

as an electric option.
Lefort has produced over 40 different
machine models during the last seven-
ty years. Eager to keep pushing the
limits of technology, its R&D team was
tasked with the mission to further
improve the Multiblocks. Of course,
the main goal was to maximise the
performance and productivity of the
next-generation shear balers.
This goal was achieved after three
years of hard work, reports Lefort’s
proud general director Christian
Lefort. The family business revealed
the ‘big’ and ‘powerful’ Koloss series
at a 3-day global kick-off event in
June. The Koloss shear balers are suit-
able for processing the ‘toughest
materials at high speed’.
The new range of scrap equipment
includes mobile, static and portable
metal shear versions with a shearing
force of up to 1000t. The largest mod-
els have a shearing force of up to
1600t. There are two models: the
Koloss TS a wrap-around box type
