Steinert. India is a promising market,
certainly in the field of smart sorting
technology, according to Hoffmann.
‘We’re looking for a sales partner in
India.’
Italy’s Zato, too, is seeing major
opportunities in India, a market the
company’s sales director Omar Della
Gaspari has ‘only started to explore’.
‘Our two-shaft shredder could
become a big hit here.’
DEPOLLUTION SETS
Car recycling tech provider Iris-Mec
has been active in India since 2016
and has sold depollution and disman-
tling sets to Tata Steel and Tata
Recycling among others. ‘The number
of ELVs for recycling is growing and so
is demand for our solutions,’ says
company manager Luca Bacchi.
Iris-Mec has an agent and service
centre for its Indian customers and
by the end of this year a warehouse
for spare parts will open in Delhi.
Another machinery supplier active in
India is Danieli. The company has
delivered a baler and two shears to
Indian customers, among others, and
foresees a ‘future full of new opportu-
nities’ on the Indian subcontinent,
particularly for shredders, says sales
manager Davide Braga.
MADE IN PUNJAB
Mandeep Chohan and Sanil Singh rep-
resent Bhupindra Machines, a compa-
ny based in Pujab in the north of the
country. At the Kochi show they pro-
mote separation lines for manual sort-
ing, which is a big market in countries
with low labour costs such as India
where most of their business comes
from.
‘Some 20% of our solutions are sold
to recyclers in Africa; Ghana, Rwanda,
Senegal but also Ethiopia and Burkina
Faso,’ says Singh. Zato’s Omar Della Gaspari
