ON THE HORIZON?
Of all ships being dismantled in 2018, a total of
60 were EU flagged. But in 2019, only 35 ves-
sels carrying an EU flag were recycled. Records
show that 15 vessels were scrapped at EU list-
ed yards in 2019, compared to fewer than five
the year before.

HELPING RECYCLERS MAKE A PROFIT
From its kick-off in the 1960s, Italian recycling
equipment manufacturer Vezzani has devised inno-
vative machinery that didn’t exist before. This
includes the PCF press for steel mills and the com-
pany’s most recognised product, the PC-AC gravi-
ty feed shear.
