Another expansion in the region has been announced by Bee’ah, which has
won three contracts for waste management services covering the north,
west and east regions of Medina. The company’s services will cover 70% of
the Saudi city and its surroundings and serve a population of 1.2 million
people. Bee’ah will provide solid waste collection and transport services
along with disinfection and sanitisation of waste bins. The operation
involves around 3 000 workers and 350 pieces of heavy equipment, includ-
ing waste collection units, street sweepers and disposal trucks. The compa-
ny will also conduct training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
‘As Bee’ah continues to prove itself as the leading sustainability pioneer in
the UAE, we are delighted to introduce advanced waste management ser-
vices and work with Medina Municipality to ensure a sustainable quality of
life for over 1.2 million people in Madinah City,’ says Bee’ah chairman Salim
bin Mohamed Al Owais.
Group ceo Khaled Al Huraimel says it is a ‘great honour’. ‘Together, we will
ensure sustainable living standards in line with Medina’s zero-waste goals
and the wider objectives of the Saudi National Transformation Plan.’
