Global scrap scene gathers in Barcelona

The Spring convention of the BIR world recycling organisation has attracted 1 300 registered participants, the highest number in a decade, says BIR’s communications director Elisabeth Christ. Among the many scrap traders and recyclers were also machinery and technology providers.

High on the agenda were global trade restrictions, increased regulation, the war in Ukraine, and volatile scrap prices.

A welcome evening event was held at Can Magí, an historic farmhouse in a wonderful setting in the hills above Barcelona.
