The Shredder Co. wins orders in Ecuador and China

USA – Steelmaker Aceria Del Ecuador C.A. (Adelca) of Quito in Ecuador has purchased a shredding plant from The Shredder Company of Texas, USA, with a goal of processing 180 000 tonnes per annum of locally-generated scrap.

Adelca operates an electric furnace steel mill producing long products, specialising in steel wire and rebar. The purchase of the TSC 80 SXS shredder will allow shorter turn times for heats from the electric furnaces and will provide better chemistry and consistency in the steel quality produced, it claims. The investment fits with Adelca’s strategy of improving the productivity and efficiency of its present steelmaking equipment, it is added.

The Shredder Company has also announced the sale of three more 124 SXS units to the Feng Li group of Jianzhiagang, China. Each is designed to produce more than 100 000 tonnes of shredded scrap a year.
