Scholz/Loacker JV sets up vehicle processing plant

Germany – A new German recycling company, Regensburg (RVR), a 50:50 joint venture between the global Scholz Group and major domestic player Loacker, has opened a new facility in the inland port of Regensburg.

The 22 000 m2 yard handles ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including end-of-life vehicles, and replaces a former leased site in Regensburg. At full capacity, the new facility will be able to process 60 000 tonnes of scrap, or 2000 vehicles a year.

The biggest advantage of the new location is its port position, enabling easy transport from the water. Franz Bauer, Managing Director of RVR, said: ‘We are certified as a full waste management firm and equipped to the latest standards, so we are well prepared for the future.’
