PSC Metals boosts Knoxville operations

United States – US scrap processor PSC Metals has added two companies to its operations in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The company has taken over the assets of Metal Solutions LLC and Knox Recycling, both also based in Knoxville: founded in 2005, the former produces secondary aluminium and will be relocated to PSC’s Knoxville scrap-buying centre; and the latter will operate as a buyer of material for processing at other PSC locations in the region. Dale Ferraro and Jason Loveland, previous owners of the recycling operations being acquired, will remain with their companies.

Mark Shapiro, PSC Executive Vice President, comments: ‘The acquisition of Metal Solutions allows us to further provide quality products and service to our aluminum customers. Knox Recycling allows us to expand westward in the Knoxville area.’

Earlier this year, PSC opened a US$ 35 million scrap recycling facility in Knoxville to provide scrap iron to nearby steelmaker Gerdau.
