New extruder boosts Axion’s recycling capacity

United States – In order to meet growing demand, US-based Axion Recycled Plastics has commissioned an additional extrusion line at its facility in New Providence in the state of New Jersey.

Production began with the Davis Standard 6” extruder in December and its installation will add more than 800 000 tonnes of recycled plastic resin to the company’s monthly capacity. The machine is capable of processing both post-consumer and post-industrial plastic.

Axion president and ceo Steve Silverman comments: ‘This was the first major project for our new company and it was great to see this completed on time and within budget.’ Axion currently operates five extrusion lines at two facilities.

The company recently announced the signing of a three-year, US$ 42 million (Euro 29 million) contract to provide resins to a major thermoplastics company in the USA.
