Further expansion for Upstate Shredding

United States – US-based Upstate Shredding-Ben Weitsman has announced the purchase of its third scrap operation in a matter of a few weeks.

The Hornell Waste Material Co. of Hornell in New York State becomes the fifteenth yard to join Upstate Shredding’s portfolio. Owner Adam Weitsman comments: ‘This acquisition is filling a great need to serve Hornell and the surrounding areas.’

In addition to the acquisitions completed of late, Upstate Shredding has also opened a US$ 15 million scrap metal export facility.

With all 15 of Upstate Shredding’s yards located in New York State and Pennsylvania, the company describes itself as ‘one of the largest privately-held scrap metal processors on the US East Coast’.
