Finland/United States – A link-up between America’s The Shredder Company and Finland-based Kuusakoski Recycling has resulted in the addition of a 6060 WEEE shredder system to the latter’s facility in Philadelphia, USA.
According to The Shredder Company’s Chairman and CEO Scott Newell, this is the firm’s first shredder ‘dedicated exclusively to shredding electronic scrap’. Rich Burgess, CEO and Managing Partner with Kuusakoski Recycling USA, expects the system to be a significant addition to the Philadelphia facility which, apart from ferrous and non-ferrous metals, also handles substantial volumes of electronic scrap.
The Philadelphia plant has been running since late 2009 and represents Kuusakoski’s first step on to US territory. However, the company expresses real hope that it will soon be followed by a number of other recycling plants.
