OHSAS 18001 clean sweep for SRS

Germany – The e-waste/computer recycling and asset management facility operated by Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS) at Hochheim near Frankfurt/Main in Germany has achieved certification to the international health and safety standard OHSAS 18001. As a result, all of SRS’ e-waste recycling operations in Continental Europe are now certified to this standard.
Thomas Wolff, Managing Director of the Hochheim facility, comments: ‘Certification by the world’s premier verification body to the health and safety standard OHSAS 18001 gives official endorsement that our operational excellence is the best quality to be found anywhere in the world. This adds value to our business, keeps our employees and contractors as safe as possible, and enables us in turn to offer the very highest quality of service to our customer base in Germany.’

SRS operates two e-waste recycling facilities in Germany: at its Bergkamen facility near Dortmund, Sims M+R provides materials recovery services to regional recycling companies; and Sims Technorecycle in Hochheim provides asset recovery services covering redundant IT and telecommunications equipment.
