Capacity boost for US e-scrap recycler

United States – Major US-based e-scrap specialist Cohen Recycling has expanded its operations in Middletown, Ohio, with a ‘state-of-the-art’ facility. The company has invested US$ 7 million (Euro 6.1 million) in the 5000-square-metre expansion which houses a processing system that is claimed to increase capacity ‘by eight times’.

Cohen’s vice president Adam Dumes says the investment ‘reflects our commitment to provide the communities we serve with a cleaner, more sustainable environment’, calling it ‘a victory for everyone that supports sustainability and human health interests worldwide’.

Capable of processing nearly 10 tonnes of e-scrap per hour, the facility will ‘more effectively’ reclaim raw materials for market consumption and also provide additional jobs.

A privately-owned scrap metals, electronics and vehicle recycler, Cohen Recycling operates 18 facilities across three US states and has 500 employees.
