US Shredder builds shredder for Mexico

Designed and built to efficiently and effectively process the ferrous and non ferrous metals after a 120 inch shredder, the system will incorporate a state of the art magnetic separation system.
According to US Shredder, very few systems in the world incorporate all of the features and technology of this system. Upon completion, the system will remove up to 99% of all non ferrous metals from the fluff stream, not including some insulated cable. The system was also designed with respect to Deacero’s neighbours. With Mexicali being one of the driest, hottest places in North America, special conveyors with covers and transition areas were designed to minimize the dust created as the material is processed.
The non ferrous line uses a combination of trommels and screens that allow the eddy currents to increase their efficiency by proper sizing of material before being introduced. The ’DSRP’ units recover valuable ferrous nuggets that might interfere with the eddy currents but also reduce the total volume by sorting out in a different stream the magnetic fines waste. The eddy currents models are specifically designed and placed according to the size material to be processed.
Finally, the system uses Air Sensor technology to recover the remainder of metals that might not be recovered from the eddy currents, such as stainless steel. Then a ’Concentrator’ Air Sensor focuses on cleaning those metals that are recovered. An extremely clean, marketable ferrous product is produced without the use of an air system by an efficient layout and design of magnetic drums.
’Along with the advanced engineering and technology,’ says company President Bill Tigner, ’a priority was placed on the ease of maintenance and cleanliness of the entire operation. As always, we completely assemble and run each piece in our factory and then disassemble for shipment. This assures a smooth and quick installation process at the customer site.’
