Europe – With the global transport industry facing major challenges such as energy saving and the sustainable use and management of natural resources and waste, the French cluster Pôle Véhicule du Futur has launched a project called S-LIFE aimed at developing strategies to enable the long-term greening of the transport/automotive industry.
Working with several big players from the automotive sector, this initiative is targeting a 50% more efficient road transport system by 2030. The S-LIFE concept was drafted with a holistic and integrated approach in mind: therefore, Pôle Véhicule du Futur and its partners will consider the entire value chain of the transport industry. The project is to produce a Joint Action Plan that will link, mobilise and co-ordinate regional resources with more focus on the sector’s current challenges.
Collaborating partners include: German clusters Bayern Innovativ and RKW Baden-Württemberg; Italian cluster CEIPIEMONTE; Auto Recycling Nederland ARN Holding of the Netherlands; Slovenian cluster ACS; and InterfacEurope from Belgium.
