Recycling International is launching the industry’s first Top 100 of the most inspiring people and practices in recycling from around the world. The special list will be published in the July/August issue, online on our website and in our news letters.
In a year dominated by the Covid pandemic, recycling businesses worldwide have been greatly challenged. ‘This crisis has shown that our industry and the people working in it are resilient, creative, innovative, and – above all – they never give up,’ says Recycling International’s chief editor Martijn Reintjes. ‘We believe that, perhaps more than ever before, this is the time to celebrate all the good things the sector is doing.’
RI’s Top 100 is not ranking by the biggest scrap volume or turnover, Reintjes emphasises. ‘The list will contain those people we believe are making the difference, who are an example, who inspire others, who stand out from the crowd,’ he explains.
‘An important aspect to underline is that RI’s Top 100 is not a one-winner-takes-all event. Everyone in the list is a winner – whether you’re included at number 1, 37 or 99.’
WHO’S YOUR TOP 100 NOMINEE?
Recycling International could use some help in putting together its Top 100. ‘Any idea, whether names of people and/or their practices are welcome,’ says Reintjes.
