2023 will be a very special year for Recycling International as the go-to source of global recycling information celebrates its 25th anniversary. ‘Of course, we will celebrate this milestone,’ says chief editor Martijn Reintjes. ‘What’s more, we will celebrate the recycling industry.’
In 1998 Manfred Beck, Helga Fresen and Jan-Willem Ypma stood at the cradle of the first business magazine covering the broad and global recycling sector. It took a lot of hard work to win the hearts and minds of recyclers worldwide. 25 years on, Recycling International is still here, standing strong both in print and online.
The 25th anniversary will be celebrated throughout the year. ‘One of the highlights will be a series of articles spotlighting our magazine subscribers in remote places from around the globe,’ says Reintjes. ‘We’ve got readers in 120 countries on every continent. From India to Indonesia and from Venezuela to the Faroe Islands. Who are they? And what challenges do they face in running their business and operations? Join us in finding out.
Another highlight: The May/June issue will be fully dedicated to the 25th anniversary. ‘We will be celebrating our industry, celebrating the people and the technology that makes recycling happen,’ explains RI’s chief editor. ‘This special publication will contain interviews with newcomers, the next generation recyclers, and highlight best practice in recycling solutions.’
