The Recycling Association of Africa (RAA) is organising its first recycling conference to showcase the developments across the metals recycling industry in the region. The new event will take place on 15 March at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Dubai.
A total of 400 delegates are expected to attend the conference, which will focus on the latest technological advancements, new challenges and business opportunities shaping the steel, ferrous and non-ferrous scrap market. Topics to be discussed include:
- Supply & demand for copper
- End-of-life vehicle recycling
- Changes in legislation
- Trends in global trade
‘It promises to be a truly exceptional event,’ comments Dr. Salam Sharif, founding chairman of RAA. ‘The association has grown steadily since its inception in 2021 with a strong membership from the African continent; 210 of our 251 registered members are African.’
Sharif believes that the gathering will provide a gateway to connect business opportunities in Africa amongst recyclers as well as high-ranking diplomats and other industry stakeholders. He invites recycling players to attend to ‘stay ahead of the curve’ on all recycling matters in the region.
RAA’s supporting partner for the event is the Malaysia Non-Ferrous Metals Association. Sponsors include Synergy Steels, Techemet, Nicro Metals and Nizmet Group.
