* Black Country Metals
Steve Bird, recently of Metpro Resources, has joined Country Metals Environmental Contracts Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the trading arm of Black Country Metals, Stourbridge, U.K. During his time in the industry, Mr Bird’s role has been to supply the best possible equipment solution to help process and recycle secondary metals, and to gain maximum revenue from metal that requires processing. Black Country Metals is now in a position to supply new and used equipment around the world through their many domestic and international contacts. Mr Bird has also joined Black Country Metals as its Commercial Manager to ’beef up the trading team’€™.

* ISRI
The U.S-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) has appointed Chuck Carr as its new Managing Director of Communications. Mr Carr has over 20 years’€™ experience in corporate, public, government and political communications. For the past eight years, he has worked as a strategic consultant for the Washington D.C. office of a public relations firm.

At the recent International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI) board of directors meeting, the following officers were elected for the year to October 2004: Chairman – Kirby C. Adams Managing Director & CEO, BHP Steel Limited; Vice-Chairmen – Guy Dollé, Chief Executive Officer, Arcelor and Akio Mimura, Representative Director, Executive Vice-President, Nippon Steel Corporation.
