David J. Joseph (DJJ) has promoted Mark Schaefer to president. He succeeds Craig Feldman, who will remain a vice-president at mother company Nucor, one of the biggest scrap recyclers and traders in the US.
Since joining DJJ in 1985, Schaefer has served in a variety of roles including brokerage representative and district manager in the ferrous trading business, vice-president for logistic services, president of U-Pull & Pay and as DJJ’s executive vice-president of both the recycling and brokerage divisions.
DJJ operates 12 domestic and international ferrous and non-ferrous scrap brokerage offices and trades ferro-alloys and specialty pig iron. It has six regional scrap recycling companies across the US, which includes a network of more than 60 scrap facilities.
