Global – Graeme Macdonald is the new ceo at machine manufacturing giant JCB. He takes over on January 1 from Alan Blake who is retiring from the company after almost a quarter of a century of service and the last three years as its ceo.
Dozens of friends and colleagues gathered at JCB’s global headquarters in Rocester, UK, to mark his retirement with a special presentation.
According to Macdonald, Blake has contributed hugely to the growth of JCB over many years. ‘The expansion projects Alan led enabled JCB to double its production from 36 000 to 72 000 machines over a five-year period,’ he noted.
Joining JCB was ‘one of the best decisions of my life’, said Blake. ‘The breadth and width of what you can learn here is enormous and the opportunity to achieve great things is endless.’
Blake will remain as an advisor to the company.
