Unparalleled shredders

From the robust and reliable PS Series shredders of the Texas Shredder brand, to the premium maintenance and operational features of the Power Zerdirator Series of Lindemann shredders, Metso’s scrap shredders can handle anywhere from 10 tonnes per hour production in compact machines to over 300 tonnes per hour throughput in its largest shredders.

Featuring the NIS Incline shear, which has proven to be an excellent solution for shearing reclaimed rebar from C&D sites, the N-Series includes the NTB triple ram baler, NLB lid baler, the NCS clamshell shear, the NSP briquetting press and the new NMS Modular shears.

The Metso N-Series modular Shear (NMS) solution provides scrap facilities with a robust and reliable shear available in their choice of stationary, transportable, mobile or track-mounted styles to best meet their facility requirements.  

’Application opportunities provided by this category of machine’s high mobility include the ability to take the equipment to a remote jobsite, facility or relocate it within a facility to minimise scrap movement,’ says Bob Pfeffer, Metso’s product manager-shears & balers. ’Mobile or transportable SBL’s are also increasingly being used for demolition projects to reduce material volumes for transportation efficiency.’

Increased performance

Standard NMS features, such as Hardox 450 wear surfaces, superior blade-slide guidance and a dual-articulating clamshell charge box provide the durability needed for increased performance and reduced equipment downtime. Pfeffer adds that ’quality service and parts support network are also very important considerations for the shear, baler and logger investment.’

The NMS-series is equipped with the latest PLC control system, and includes a remote control for convenient and efficient operation. Furthermore, online diagnostics and pump and cylinder test modes provide maintenance-friendly operation.  ’Our electronic control system and high-efficiency hydraulics assure one of the lowest operational costs per tonne,’ explains Pfeffer.
