Lloyd’s List mention for ship recycling ‘visionary’

United Kingdom – Lloyd’s List for 2011 – which ranks the 100 most influential people in shipping – features the name Dr Anil Sharma in 47th place. The founder, President and CEO of ship recycling specialist GMS says the accolade is a reward for hard work and dedication.

A Lloyd’s List judge remarked: ‘The names on our list are those of innovators and visionaries, and for this reason our Top 100 can be considered a roll-call of the figures who will likely guide us into a new era of shipping. Dr Sharma’s nomination recognises the growing importance of the ship recycling industry to the mainstream shipping industry and reflects that GMS has become a force in ship recycling over the last 20 years – with a still-growing presence in the maritime world.’
