Their robust structure, the quality of the materials used in their construction and the precision of the cutting blades make the machines suitable for milling plastics and various sorts of wastes. Milling efficiency is increased by an automatic-drive drawer which presses the material against the blade until it has been completely milled. All V.M.C. machines come complete with sophisticated control equipment that regulates the automatic-drive function, adapting it to the type of material to be shredded. Any irregularities and maintenance requirements are displayed on a screen. The tool (plate) applied to the blade can be used on six edges via a simple rotating mechanism before replacement become necessary. Furthermore, the firm’s technical department is able to modify its already wide range of products according to the most demanding client specifications.
The high-capacity material loading hopper is made of die-cast sheet metal and is welded onto a tubular ring, to which special dust-proof and screened guide shoes are fixed. The hopper movement, which enables untreated material to be pushed towards the rotor, is controlled by two hydraulic cylinders. An adjustable non-return steel sheet baffle plate is bolted to the inside of the hopper. Drive belts perform the delicate function of a clutch, which protects the reduction unit and the motor from knocks and shocks which may occur during grinding. Machine operation is controlled by a sensor-based PLC panel for automatic adjustment of the hopper thrust, which avoids stressing the electric motor. Also incorporated are: automatic inversion of the roller in the event of jamming, an external amperometer, a control display with light and sound signals, safety micro-switches located on the protective casings of the moving parts, and emergency and stop switches.
