Executive changes at Scholz

Germany – Oliver Scholz (43) has taken over as chairman of the executive board at Scholz Group. He succeeds Berndt-Ulrich Scholz (74), who had occupied this position since 1999. The reshuffle is part of a long-term plan to ensure a younger-generation successor.

According to the German steel and metal scrap group, Berndt-Ulrich Scholz will continue to serve as a member of the executive board.

Additionally, the board has named Dr René Gissinger (40) as a director; he has been with the company since 2012. Gissinger has a doctorate in industrial engineering and will represent Scholz’s foreign interests as well as focusing on central areas of operating technology, purchasing, environmental and quality control, and energy management. He has extensive experience in the automotive sector, steel industry and engineering.
