EIA establishes award to honour ‘change-makers’

United States – The US Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) has launched a national community service recognition programme called ‘Community Changemakers’ to honour companies and individuals serving as leaders and role models in advancing the nation’s overall waste management and recycling efforts, Waste 360 has reported.

‘Every day, the waste and recycling industry provides important services to communities across the country,’ comments EIA’s president and ceo Sharon Kneiss. ‘In so many instances, people in the industry have gone above and beyond the call of duty, whether by rendering aid in emergencies, acting as eyes and ears in neighbourhoods, or volunteering time and talents to make their communities better places.’

Community Changemakers is intended to ‘give deserved attention to those community leaders and heroes’. Winners will receive certificates as well as online coverage via EIA’s social media accounts and website. To recommend an individual, group or company for the award, contact Craig Branson at [email protected].
