Bollegraaf to build mega facility in Russia

Russia – Dutch recycling technology provider Bollegraaf has been chosen to develop what, it is claimed, will be ‘one of the most advanced’ municipal solid waste recycling plants in Russia. The facility created for the MAG Group at Nizhny Novgorod, a city east of Moscow, will recover and sort mixed plastics and paper as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

The 60 tonnes per hour (400 000 tonnes per year) recycling line will boast an infeed area of 2300 m2 and a processing area of 2600 m2. The facility will be equipped with a range of smart technologies including bag openers, optical sorters, and a ballistic sorting machine to separate 3D fractions from both 2D and fine fractions.

Established in 2009, MAG Group is one of the largest specialists in the field of collection, removal and recycling of municipal solid waste throughout the Russian Federation. In addition to Nizhny Novgorod, the group operates facilities in Penza, Novosibirsk, Samara and Karelia.

Since 2012, it has also been involved in municipal waste collection in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
