ICBR: a review of what’s new in battery recycling

Global – A review of latest key developments in battery design, collection and recycling will form the bedrock for the 22nd International Congress for Battery Recycling (ICBR), which is taking place on September 20-22 at the Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa in the Portuguese capital Lisbon.

Organised by Swiss company ICM AG, the congress is expected to attract more than 200 decision-makers from across the battery spectrum, including producers, recyclers, collection scheme operators, policy-makers and transport companies. They will hear presentations covering, for example, safety aspects with lithium primary and lithium rechargeable batteries, energy storage and opportunities for a second use for batteries, and removability of batteries. The economic aspects of collection and take-back schemes and latest trends in battery recycling technologies will also be covered.

An exhibition area will be integrated into the conference facilities to enable vendors to meet existing and prospective clients. Cocktail receptions and a networking dinner are also scheduled to provide opportunities to meet informally with business partners and industry colleagues.
